I went to see Howling Bells yesterday! It was pretty good.

I am totally behind the times and had only heard their first album, so I only recognised like 3 songs (this has now been rectified). It was still good though.

The support band, chew lips were totally friggin awesome. Unfortunately they don't seem to have recorded an album yet but apparently they have a single coming out soon? But be careful because "they play lo-fi tech tunes that are infectious"

There was a competition to design a commemorative 5 euro coin with the theme "Netherlands and Architecture". The winning design is pretty amazing, and it was done using python and open source software

When the Wind Blows is the most disturbing film I've ever watched.

Seriously... for the last ten minutes or so I was just sat in horror wanting it to end. I think it rivals Grave of the Fireflies in terms of depressingness.

It's an animated film by Raymond Briggs, the guy that made The Snowman and the art style is the same. But it's about england being hit by a nuclear bomb.

So awesome.
